A Vulnerability Was Patched. The Attack Came From Above.

Remy pitched this strip himself. He nutmegs me in goal, I fix the hole, and the fix is what gets me.

His version goes like this. He puts the ball through my legs and runs past my hip with both arms up while I stand there looking down at the grass between my feet. Fine. I drop into a full split in front of the goal so it can never happen again. He looks at the gap. I look at him looking at the gap.

Then he chips it into my face. He does not celebrate. He turns around and walks off and informs me that the nutmeg was the setup, which is the kind of sentence I usually hear from a client, not from someone whose shoes I tie.

Every fix I have ever shipped opened a hole somewhere I wasn't looking. This one just happened to be directly above my head. Remy knew that before he took the first shot.
